For Small Businesses Looking to Leverage Big Data

Being that we're in the analytics business, we go through massive amounts of data points each day here at SumAll to draw intelligent conclusions about the way data is used. To help their audience understand the value of big data and find out ways in which small businesses can leverage it to their advantage, the editors at Digital Marketing Remix asked us to write a guest post on their blog. Since using data to make smarter business decisions is something very close to our hearts, our President, Catherine Gluckstein, wrote 5 tips every small business owner should know regarding data.

Like our previous blog post about using the SumAll goals feature as a type of Weight Watchers for your business, we're particularly interested in finding ways to help businesses improve the ways they interact with their data. Data is something that everyone uses every day – it's a parent's birthday or a friend's favorite food – but people rarely see it in that light. Making information more accessible and easy to understand, such as putting a number on the value of a visit, is a way we try to mitigate this averseness to data and make it more approachable in the process. If we can get just one small business owner to use their own data to become more informed on the state of their business, we know they'll be able to use this information to compete with bigger companies that have more employees and far more resources.

To see how we're making data more accessible, visit our resources page, follow us on Twitter, and check for daily updates on our Facebook page.
