What's the Value of a Visit?

Here at SumAll we love numbers. It's what we do, the backbone of our business. We also know that a lot of people are deeply averted to math and the sight of a spreadsheet caues all sorts of involuntary physiological reactions. With that in mind, our main mission at SumAll is to make math not only easy, but game-changing. That's why we have a team of the best analysts rummaging through thousands upon thousands of data points to pluck out the most interesting and useful information.

Here are some of our findings:

  • $0.43 is the median value of a visit per minute
  • $1.30 is the median worth of a visit
  • 3.20min is the perfect amount of time to keep a visitor on your site

What is the reason for these metrics to be more insightful? I understand its a different approach, but why is it better? What's the argument?

Hey Sam! Great question. The straightforward answer is that the data used for this study was collected from over 10,000 businesses so it probably isn't directly applicable to your business. The study is meant to convey that there is a direct correlation between activity and results. So if you sign up for an account with us, you can clearly see the relationship between website traffic and revenue, and from there, make informed decisions regarding how you run your business. For example, if you find that there's a direct relationship between increased time on your site and revenue, look for ways that you can engage your users more effectively for a longer period of time. If you have blog, update it more frequently, hold contests and promotions, make it easier to share your content socially, etc. Our goal is for everyone to leverage their data to make better decisions.

Hope that answers your question!
